The Supervisory Board of Curacyte AG, a Munich-based drug development company, has appointed Dr. Ulrich Delvos as its new Chief Executive Officer. He is joining from MediGene AG where he served as Chief Operating Officer for nearly four years until May 2008.

Curacyte AG announces that Dr. Andreas Zaby, CFO, will resign as of September 30, 2008. Dr. Zaby will be joining the faculty of the Berlin School of Economics as a professor of business administration as of Oct 1, 2008 where his teaching and research work will focus on both, the biopharmaceutical industry and entrepreneurial finance. Dr. Zaby will remain an active consultant to the industry.

Curacyte AG today announced that it has sold its wholly owned subsidiary, Curacyte Discovery GmbH based in Leipzig (Germany) to The Medicines Company (NASDAQ: MDCO). Curacyte Discovery is engaged in the development of synthetic serine protease inhibitors in the area of hemostasis and anti-coagulation. Its rationally-designed lead development candidate, CU-2010, is being developed for preventing surgical blood loss. It is scheduled to enter Phase I clinical development by the end of 2008.
